What happens when I turn off my motorcycle?
When you switch off your motorcycle engine, the RiderNav Display does not immediately power down. Instead, it enters a 10-second shutdown countdown and displays ride statistics from your just-completed trip.
What ride statistics are shown?
The shutdown screen displays the following information from your ride:
Riding time
Distance traveled
Average speed
Top speed
Note: Other data points (such as lean angle) are not included. The data fields shown are not customizable at this time.
FAQ
Q: Can I save or export these trip statistics?
A: No. The RiderNav Display currently does not support exporting ride data to SD cards, external storage, or companion apps.
Q: My display shuts down instantly—no countdown or statistics appear. Why?
A: This occurs when your motorcycle's electrical system cuts power immediately upon key-off. The RiderNav Display requires brief sustained power after engine shutdown to display the countdown and trip summary. If your bike's battery management system or power relay disconnects instantly, the device cannot complete this sequence.
Q: I have a BMW motorcycle and my R7M doesn't show the countdown. What should I try?
A: Some BMW riders have resolved this issue by removing the BMW TFT display from their Bluetooth paired devices list, keeping only the RiderNav connection active. After deleting the TFT pairing:
Go to your bike's TFT settings
Remove/forget the BMW TFT Bluetooth connection
Keep only the RiderNav Bluetooth pairing
Restart both systems
This has restored normal countdown display functionality for affected users.
Built-in Battery Protection
The RiderNav Display includes a built-in protection battery that allows it to remain powered briefly after the motorcycle is turned off, enabling the countdown and statistics display. However, this feature only works if your motorcycle's electrical system maintains power for a short period after key-off.
