Why the Action Camera Can’t Be Turned Back On from RiderNav

Updated this week

When the Action Camera is powered off, the RiderNav R7M/R7X cannot turn it on again unless the camera has Bluetooth Wake / Remote Wake enabled. If this option is off, the camera’s Bluetooth will shut down completely, and the R7M won’t be able to wake it.

What to Check on Action Camera

  1. On the camera, go to Settings

  2. Find and enable Bluetooth Wake / Bluetooth Wake-up / Remote Wake (wording may vary by firmware)

  3. Re-pair the camera with the RiderNav R7M/R7X if needed

  4. Test again: turn the camera off → try waking it from RiderNav R7M/R7X

Note: If Bluetooth wake is disabled, you’ll need to power on the camera manually before connecting.

If It Still Doesn’t Work

  • Make sure the camera firmware is up to date

  • Remove the Bluetooth pairing on both sides and re-pair

  • Confirm the camera battery is not in a low-power state (some cameras disable wake features when battery is very low)
