The RiderNav R7X is designed for quick and easy installation. Follow these three simple steps to get your navigation system up and running safely and securely.
Step 1: Mount the Bracket
Before You Start:
Choose a mounting location with clear sightlines and easy reach
Ensure the location does not block instruments, gauges, or steering function
Installation Instructions:
Identify your handlebar diameter – Measure the circumference of your handlebar
Select the correct diameter adapter – The included bracket fits round handlebars with a diameter of Φ22-32 mm. Choose the appropriate adapter ring that matches your handlebar size
Secure the bracket – Attach the bracket to your handlebar using the selected adapter
Tighten all screws firmly – Use the provided screwdriver to ensure all fasteners are tight and secure. This prevents movement while riding
Step 2: Connect to Power
Wiring Connection: The R7X power cable includes three wires:
Red wire → Connect to the motorcycle battery positive terminal (+12V)
Black wire → Connect to the motorcycle battery negative terminal (Ground/-)
Yellow wire → Connect to the motorcycle ACC (Accessory/switched power)
Important: Ensure all connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits.
Step 3: Power Check & Securing the Unit
Step 3.1 – Power On Test
Start your motorcycle
Insert the R7X into the quick-release cradle mounted on the bracket
Ensure the R7X powers on successfully
Correct Orientation: The display must align properly with the cradle before insertion. The correct installation orientation is when the RiderNav logo appears at the bottom-left of the screen.
Step 3.2 – Secure Seating Verification
Gently push and pull the R7X to confirm it is securely seated and locked into the cradle
The unit should not wobble or move excessively
Step 3.3 – Removal (When Needed)
Press the release pin on the cradle to detach the R7X
Hold the unit firmly while releasing to prevent it from falling and sustaining damage
