Issue Description
Some users with iPhone running iOS 26.2 or later versions may experience difficulty connecting their device to the R7M for CarPlay screen mirroring. The connection may fail to establish or drop unexpectedly.
Solution
We have addressed this compatibility issue in our latest OTA firmware update (Version 1.4.4), which introduces a Channel Switching feature. This allows you to manually select different WiFi channels to establish a stable connection with your iPhone.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps to resolve the connection issue:
1. Update to Firmware Version 1.4.4
Ensure your R7M device is running firmware version 1.4.4 or later. If not, please update via OTA (Settings > System Setup>Update).
2. Access Channel Switching Settings
3. Select a Different Channel
You will see the following available channels:
Select any one of these channels.
4. Reconnect Your iPhone
After selecting a new channel, disconnect and reconnect your iPhone to the R7M
The CarPlay connection should now establish successfully
Troubleshooting Tips
If the connection still fails after selecting one channel:
Try selecting a different channel from the list
Some channels may work better depending on your location and local WiFi interference
Restart both your R7M device and iPhone before attempting to reconnect
Best Practices:
Ensure your iPhone's Bluetooth and WiFi are both enabled
Keep your iPhone iOS updated to the latest available version
Ensure no other devices are actively connected to the R7M
