What Apps Can I Use on RiderNav Displays?

Updated this week

RiderNav Displays (R7M/R7X) do not support installing apps directly. They work through smartphone mirroring:

  • iPhone: Apple CarPlay

  • Android: Android Auto

Only apps that the developer has officially enabled for CarPlay or Android Auto will appear on your RiderNav screen. Compatible apps typically appear automatically in the CarPlay/Android Auto app launcher.

Best-known motorcycle route apps (twisty-road / ride planning)

CarPlay (iPhone)

  • calimoto (CarPlay supported; Android Auto not currently supported)

  • REVER (CarPlay supported; Android Auto not currently supported)

  • Scenic (CarPlay supported)

  • Kurviger (CarPlay supported)

  • Detecht (CarPlay integration available)

  • MyRoute-app (CarPlay supported)

Android Auto (Android)

  • Kurviger (Android Auto supported)

  • MyRoute-app (Android Auto supported)

Note: Some popular motorcycle route apps support CarPlay first (or only). For example, calimoto currently states Android Auto is not supported.

Adventure / Off-road map apps riders often use

CarPlay (iPhone)

  • onX Offroad (CarPlay supported)

  • Gaia GPS (CarPlay supported)

  • OsmAnd (CarPlay supported)

Android Auto (Android)

  • onX Offroad (Android Auto supported)

  • OsmAnd (Android Auto supported)

Reliable “everyday” navigation apps (work well for riders too)

  • Google Maps: CarPlay + Android Auto

  • Waze: CarPlay + Android Auto

Common Music Apps

  • Apple Music

  • Spotify

  • YouTube Music

  • TIDAL

  • Amazon Music

How to Confirm Your Favorite App Will Show on RiderNav

Because support can change by region / OS version / app version, the safest approach is:

  • Search online: “[App name] CarPlay support” / “[App name] Android Auto support

  • Connect your phone and check whether the app appears in the CarPlay / Android Auto app launcher

Why Some Apps Show on CarPlay but Not on Android Auto (and vice versa)

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are two different platforms with different technical frameworks and approval requirements. Because of that, it’s very common to see an app that supports only CarPlay or only Android Auto.

If an app doesn’t appear on your RiderNav Display, it usually means the app developer has not enabled support for that specific platform. Unfortunately, RiderNav cannot change this—we can only mirror what CarPlay/Android Auto allows.

What you can do:

  • Contact the app developer and request support for the other platform (CarPlay or Android Auto)

  • Use an alternative app that already supports your platform

  • Verify compatibility by searching online: “App name CarPlay support” / “App name Android Auto support”
