RIDERNAV-XXX vs RIDERNAV-XXX LE: Understanding Your Bluetooth Connections

RIDERNAV-XXXX (Standard Bluetooth)

Purpose: CarPlay & Android Auto Connection

This is the primary channel used for establishing a connection between your smartphone and the RiderNav Display for screen mirroring functionality.

What it does:

  • Enables Apple CarPlay connection (iOS devices)

  • Enables Android Auto connection (Android devices)

  • Allows you to mirror navigation, music, and supported apps to the display

How to use: When connecting to CarPlay or Android Auto, select the RIDERNAV-XXXX channel from your phone's Bluetooth settings.


RIDERNAV-XXXX LE (Bluetooth Low Energy)

Purpose: iOS Notification Service (ANCS)

This channel is specifically designed for iPhone users who want to receive notifications on their RiderNav Display.

What it does:

  • Receives iPhone notifications in real-time

  • Displays incoming calls, text messages, and app alerts

  • Works alongside the standard Bluetooth connection

How to use: After pairing with RIDERNAV-XXXX LE, your RiderNav Display will automatically show notifications from your iPhone.


Quick Setup Guide

For CarPlay/Android Auto:

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone

  2. Search for available devices

  3. Select RIDERNAV-XXXX

  4. Follow on-screen prompts to complete pairing

For iPhone Notifications (Optional):

  1. After connecting to RIDERNAV-XXXX

  2. Also pair with RIDERNAV-XXXX LE

  3. Allow notification access when prompted

  4. You're all set!


Important Notes

  • Both channels can be used simultaneously on iOS devices

  • The LE channel is specifically for Apple devices and notification services

  • Make sure to select the correct channel for your intended use

  • If you experience connection issues, try disconnecting and reconnecting to the appropriate channel
