Learn whether your Huawei phone works with RiderNav displays. International Huawei devices generally don't support Android Auto, while China mainland models offer HiCar connectivity on compatible series.

Connectivity Overview

RiderNav displays can work with Huawei smartphones, but functionality varies significantly based on your device's region and installed software ecosystem.


Huawei Devices – Global/International Models

Android Auto Limitation:

  • Global market Huawei phones typically do not support Android Auto

  • Google Mobile Services (GMS) removal from international Huawei devices prevents Android Auto functionality

Compatibility Verification: We cannot confirm Android Auto support for specific Huawei model numbers. Please verify your device's Android Auto capability independently through:

  • Checking for "Android Auto" in your phone's app drawer or Play Store

  • Testing connection with other Android Auto-compatible devices


Huawei Devices – China Mainland Models

HiCar Alternative: Huawei phones sold in mainland China feature HiCar as the smartphone integration system instead of Android Auto.

HiCar Compatibility Requirements:

  • Supported device series: Mate series, Pura/P series, nova series, Pocket series

  • Minimum software version: EMUI 10.0+ or HarmonyOS 2.0+

Note: Most recent-generation Huawei devices from these series running the required software versions include HiCar support.
