What's in the Box — Q5 Pro System Contents

Every component in your Q5 Pro spotlights, RLC3 controller, and RLC-CAN controller — identified, matched to what it does, and organized in one clear guide to check the moment you open the box.

Before You Unpack

This guide helps you confirm every component in your Q5 Pro purchase and understand what each part does before installation begins. We recommend a two-minute inventory check the moment your package arrives:

  • Lay out all components on a clean surface

  • Match each item to the checklists below

  • Contact support immediately if anything is missing — don't wait until mid-installation

Everything below is grouped by product, so if you purchased multiple items, work through each section separately.

🎁 Free Bundled Gift for BMW Riders

If you selected a compatible BMW motorcycle model when purchasing your Q5 Pro spotlights, your package also includes:

  • 1 × CAN Adapter Cable (matched to your specific BMW model: 4PIN, 6PIN, or 8PIN)

This adapter is required to connect the RLC-CAN Controller to your BMW's CAN bus. It ships with your Q5 Pro order — no separate purchase, no separate box. See Section 3 below for adapter-to-model matching.

Not a BMW rider? You won't receive a CAN adapter — you don't need one. The RLC3 Universal Controller works on any motorcycle without additional adapters.

What Each Component Does

Auxiliary Lights (×2) — The Q5 Pro spotlights themselves. Each unit delivers 11,000 lumens of hybrid-beam output with dual-color (white/yellow) capability.

Auxiliary Light Brackets (×2) — The primary L-shaped mounting brackets that attach directly to each spotlight housing. These are the interface between your light and whatever you mount it on.

Universal Tube Clamp Brackets (×2) — Clamp assemblies that grip onto any round tubular structure (crash bars, engine guards, fork tubes, roll cages) at your chosen mounting position.

Tube Clamp Sleeves — 22mm / 25mm / 28mm (×2 each) — Precision-sized insert sleeves that adapt the universal clamp to three of the most common motorcycle tube diameters. Choose the size that matches your bike's tubes and set the other two sizes aside for future use or a different bike.

M8×12 Light Head Screws (×4) — The primary screws that secure each spotlight to its bracket. Two per light.

M8 Washers (×4) and M8 Flat Washers (×2) — Load-distribution washers used at various mounting points during assembly. Full torque and washer-placement diagrams are in the Installation Guide.

About the Spare Accessories

Your Q5 Pro ships with backup hardware for scenarios most riders will never encounter — but if you do encounter them, having spares on hand saves a trip to the hardware store.

M16 4-PIN Extension Cables (×2) — Use these if the standard cable length between your spotlights and controller isn't quite enough for your specific routing. Common on larger touring bikes with long crash bar runs.

M8×35 Screws + M8 Spring Washers (×2 each) and M8×15 Screws (×2) — Alternative-length hardware for unusual mounting geometries where the standard M8×12 screws aren't the right length.

Keep the spare accessories in a labeled bag — you may not need them today, but they're worth holding onto for future setup changes.

What Each Component Does

Main Controller (1-to-1 Unit) (×1) — The central control unit that houses all the electronics driving your spotlights: power management, dimming, dual-color switching, thermal protection logic, and safety sync features. It's designed to be mounted somewhere protected on your motorcycle (behind fairings, under the seat, or in a dry compartment) and connects to the handlebar-mounted rotary knob and to your motorcycle's power system.

Rotary Knob with Integrated High-Beam Sync Button (×1) — The handlebar-mounted control your thumb interacts with. This is a single integrated unit combining two functions:

  • The rotary dial — infinite dimming, dual-color toggle, hazard flash activation, and the Color-Shift LED indicator

  • The high-beam sync button — a dedicated one-press control that boosts your spotlights to full output on demand

The rotary knob is connected to the main controller via a single cable — no separate hardware needed to link them.

Rotary Knob Bracket (×1) — The mounting bracket that attaches the rotary knob to your motorcycle's handlebar, positioned within easy thumb reach.

Rotary Knob Bracket Screws (M3×5.5mm) (×2) — The two small screws that secure the rotary knob to its bracket.

Power Cable (×1) — The main power supply cable that connects the main controller to your motorcycle's power source (typically the battery or a switched fuse box connection). This cable plugs into the dedicated power input on the main controller.

Horn Sync Cable (×1) — A dedicated signal cable that connects the main controller to your motorcycle's horn circuit. Once connected, pressing your bike's horn will trigger a synchronized strobe pattern from your Q5 Pro spotlights, combining audio and visual alerts.

What You'll Need to Supply

For a complete installation, you'll also need standard motorcycle wiring tools and small consumables:

  • Metric hex key set for handlebar bracket installation

  • Wire connectors and crimping tools for tapping into the horn circuit and power source

  • Zip ties for cable routing along your bike's frame

Full installation walk-through is available in Installing the RLC3 Universal Controller.

What Each Component Does

RLC-CAN Controller (×1) — The compact control unit that reads your BMW's CAN bus signals and translates them into Q5 Pro spotlight commands. All CAN bus intelligence — Wonder Wheel gesture recognition, turn/hazard/headlight sync, memory function — lives inside this unit.

XT60 Power Input Cable (×1) — The primary power supply cable that connects the RLC-CAN to your motorcycle's battery or power distribution point. The XT60 connector is a robust, keyed connector rated for high-current motorcycle applications.

Horn Sync Cable (×1) — A dedicated signal cable that connects the RLC-CAN to your motorcycle's horn circuit. Once connected, pressing your bike's horn triggers a synchronized strobe pattern from your Q5 Pro spotlights — the audio-visual alert combination for cutting through distracted-driver situations.

📌 About the CAN Adapter Cable

Your RLC-CAN Controller requires a CAN Adapter Cable to communicate with your BMW's CAN bus. Because different BMW models use different CAN connector specifications, the adapter is matched to your specific bike model and ships with your Q5 Pro spotlights order — not this RLC-CAN box.

If you purchased both Q5 Pro spotlights and the RLC-CAN controller in the same order and selected a compatible BMW model, your CAN adapter will be in the Q5 Pro package as a free bundled gift. Look for:
